Romolo and Salvatore are two young men who are neighbors and friends. They live in Piazza Navona, Rome, with their parents. They are impoverished yet gorgeous, and they both fall in love with Giovanna.
Dino Risi directed the popular 1957 Italian comedy film Poveri ma belli. Risi directed two sequels, both starring Marisa Allasio, Maurizio Arena, and Renato Salvatori: Belle ma povere in 1957 and Poveri milionari in 1959. (the latter not featuring Allasio, who by then had retired from acting).
