Teresa, a Spanish girl, travels to Milan to visit Ponchia, Marco, Paolino, and Cedro, whom she hasn’t seen in years; her lover, their old buddy Rudy, is imprisoned in Marrakech and requires assistance and money.
To get him out of danger, the five plan to go to Morocco. Gabriele Salvatores directed the 1989 Italian film Marrakech Express, which starred Diego Abatantuono, Fabrizio Bentivoglio, Cristina Marsillach, Giuseppe Cederna, and Gigio Alberti. It was the first episode of Salvatores’ trilogia della fuga (“escape trilogy”), which was followed by On Tour (1990) and the Academy Award-winning Mediterraneo (1991). The casts of the three films share several similarities, most notably Diego Abatantuono, who plays a significant role in all of them.
