A little child inadvertently discovers a deep hole in the ground where another youngster is held captive. Gabriele Salvatores directed I’m Not Scared (Io non ho paura) in 2003.
The script was written by Francesa Marciano and Niccol Ammaniti and is based on Niccol Ammaniti’s bestselling 2001 Italian novel of the same name. The movie takes place during Italy’s “Years of Lead,” a period in the 1970s marked by terrorism and kidnapping, and follows a nine-year-old child who finds a horrific crime perpetrated by the whole inhabitants of his southern Italian town.
