A little girl with an incredible capacity to speak with insects is sent to an expensive Swiss boarding school, where her extraordinary gift may aid in the investigation of a spate of murders. Dario Argento’s 1985 Italian horror-thriller Phenomena stars Jennifer Connelly, Daria Nicolodi, and Donald Pleasence. Its narrative revolves around a student in a secluded Swiss boarding school who discovers she possesses psychic abilities that allow her to speak with insects and uses them to track down a serial murderer who is butchering young ladies at and near the school. Phenomena was bought for distribution in the United States after its release in Italy and had almost twenty minutes of the film cut before being released under the title Creepers.
