According to sources, Italy has revoked the Italian honors of ten Russians, including two deputy ministers and the deputy speaker of the Duma, because they are ‘unworthy’ to hold them.
The titles of foreign deputy ministers Alexander Grushko and Evgheny Ivanov were revoked by three decrees issued by the Italian president on August 8. Grushko lost his Grand Officer of the Order of the Star of Italy title, which he received a year ago.
Ivanov was stripped of the title Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy. Aleksey Gordeev, the Russian parliament’s deputy speaker, also lost the latter title.
The awards were revoked after Italy deemed the recipients unworthy. Many other Russian high officials’ titles have previously been revoked by Italy.
