Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, a leading luxury hospitality brand, and Gruppo Statuto, one of Italy’s leading hotel construction companies, have announced that Four Seasons will take over the management of the historic Hotel Danieli. In 2025, the hotel will reopen as Hotel Danieli, Venezia, A Four Seasons Hotel, following major renovations.
The Hotel comprises of three buildings: the 14th century Palazzo Dandolo and two 19th century expansions linked by bridges – Palazzo Casa Nuova and Palazzo Danieli Excelsior – and is located in the Riva degli Schiavoni neighborhood of Venice, next to Piazza San Marco. The rich history of Hotel Danieli is evident throughout the property, as seen by the magnificently maintained Venetian Gothic-style building, as well as art and antiques from the hotel’s history.
Venice is a popular tourist destination across the world, known for its art, culture, and architecture. The city is also noted for its unusual geography since it is constructed on an archipelago of hundreds of islands connected by bridges and canals, some of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Travelers may explore the city by boat or on foot, taking in the spectacular sights and activities at every turn.
Hotel Danieli has a long history of being one of Venice’s most opulent hotels, with a prime location in the city’s core. The market booths of Piazza San Marco, gondola rides along the canal, and the Basilica San Marco are all within a short stroll for guests.
Guests will be immersed in the property’s magnificence from the minute they arrive, with a unique welcome experience on a boat down the Grand Canal. The Grand Canal, the surrounding city, and Venice’s Bay are all visible from the guest suites. The hotel also has four restaurants and bars, all of which have stunning views, as well as seven meeting and event rooms.
Prior to reopening as a Four Seasons hotel, the hotel will undergo substantial renovations, with famous designer Pierre-Yves Rochon directing the interiors. Rochon has worked on a number of classic Four Seasons buildings around Europe, including those in Florence, Paris, Cap-Ferrat, and Megève. The facility will remain open during the renovations, with limited services and amenities offered. During this restoration, Gruppo Statuto will run and manage the hotel under the name The Hotel Danieli, Venezia.
Hotel Danieli, Venezia, A Four Seasons Hotel will join Four Seasons’ growing collection of properties in Italy, which includes Four Seasons Hotel Milano, which recently underwent extensive common area renovations; Four Seasons Hotel Firenze; San Domenico Palace, Taormina, A Four Seasons Hotel; and an upcoming resort in Puglia.
