A daily Italian word game that challenges players to form words from seven letters.
Apetta is a free, browser-based word game inspired by Spelling Bee and designed specifically for the Italian language. Every day, players are presented with seven letters arranged around a central tile. The task is to find as many valid Italian words as possible before the puzzle resets at midnight (Italy time). The central letter must be used in every word, and the remaining letters can be repeated as needed. Longer words earn higher scores, and there’s an additional bonus for finding the pangram — a word that uses all seven letters.

The game’s dictionary has been optimized for Italian and goes beyond standard vocabulary. It includes inflected forms, words from traditional cuisine, folklore references, common proper names, and place names, as well as vulgar terms. Acronyms, abbreviations, and foreign words not assimilated into Italian are excluded. Only singular nouns and verbs in the infinitive form (-are, -ere, -ire) are accepted. All valid words must be at least four letters long, and accented and unaccented versions are treated as equivalent. Apostrophes and hyphens are not allowed.
No registration or sign-up is required, and the game runs directly in a web browser on both desktop and mobile devices.
Apetta is available in Italian, making it suitable for native speakers as well as learners who want to expand their vocabulary through regular practice.
