  11. The Ducal Castle of Carpineto...

Castello ducale di Carpineto Sinello, also known as palazzo ducale Bassi-D’Alanno, is a Renaissance castle in Carpineto Sinello, Chieti, Abruzzo.

The castle is the village’s main landmark and has medieval origins. The original layout dates from the 14th century, with subsequent changes (16th and 18th centuries). The structure was built around an existing medieval tower with a quadrangular base. The castle is composed by several interconnected bodies, including a scarp-walled tower, a residential building, and a courtyard. Limestone and sandstone are the materials used.
