Archaic birth and childhood deity. Mens (“Mind”) provides children with intelligence.

Mens, also known as Mens Bona (Latin for “Good Mind”), was the personification of thought, awareness, and the mind in Roman mythology. He was also the embodiment of “right-thinking.” On June 8, her celebration was observed. Following the Battle of Lake Trasimene, Mens pledged a temple to be built on Rome’s Capitoline Hill in 217 BC. The temple was later consecrated in 215 BC.
