Inter player Antonio Candreva has decided to help the child forced to eat tuna and crackers at school due to the parents’ failure to pay the canteen fee.
Candreva spoke with the mayor of the town of Minerbe (Verona), Andrea Girardi, to get the details of the story and announced that he would like to pay the canteen fee for the child, who attends elementary school.
The episode, which happened a few days ago to a Minerbe elementary school girl of foreign origin, was denounced by the Democratic Party, which speaks of a “discriminatory choice” on the part of the municipal administration led by the League.
The choice would have been agreed between the managers of the canteen and the Municipality, of which the League’s Andrea Girardi is mayor, after having unsuccessfully asked the family to pay the fee.
The decision that would have also upset the little girl, who cried when she was served a different and reduced meal by her companions.
