Monica Anna Maria Bellucci (born September 30, 1964) is an Italian model and actress. She began her career as a fashion model for Dolce & Gabbana and Dior before moving on to Italian films and, subsequently, American and French films.
In Francis Ford Coppola’s gothic horror romance picture Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992), Bellucci portrayed a Bride of Dracula, and in the Italian-language love drama Malèna, she played Malèna Scordia (2000). She appeared in Gaspar Noé‘s controversial arthouse horror film Irréversible (2002) and as Mary Magdalene in Mel Gibson’s historical epic The Passion of the Christ (2004).
She portrayed Persephone in the 2003 science-fiction blockbusters The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions. She became the franchise’s oldest Bond girl at the age of 51 when she appeared in the 2015 James Bond film Spectre.
