Vittorio Domenico Stanislao Gaetano Sorano De Sica (July 7, 1901 – November 13, 1974) was an Italian actor, director, and screenwriter.
He was a theatrical performer and documentary filmmaker in addition to being one of the most influential directors in movie history. He is regarded as one of the founding fathers of neorealism, as well as a notable director and actor in Italian comedy. Sciuscià, Thieves of Bicycles, Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow, and Il Giardino Dei Finzi Contini received the Academy Award for a best foreign-language picture, for which Matrimonio all Italiana was also nominated.
