Latona, or Leto, was the mother of Apollo and Artemis.

Leto also makes an appearance in other significant myths, typically when she punishes mortals for their hubris against her, aside from the narrative of the birth of Artemis and Apollo. She is typically shown in ancient art as a humble, veiled woman being carried off by Tityos while being surrounded by her children and Zeus.
