The hacker group Groove Cyber Crime Group has published a series of threats of attacks on the Italian health care sector. According to the Italian news agency Ansa, the National Cybersecurity Agency has already alerted potential targets for days about the risks suggesting adequate countermeasures to counter the possible attack. The threat is evaluated as very reliable by investigators.

Groove Cyber Crime Group is a criminal crew that has called other groups to attack the United States and its allies. U.S. cybercrime agencies are engaged in an all-out fight against Revil, a Russian-based ransomware gang believed to be responsible for the May attack on the Colonial Pipeline in the United States. The recent actions of Groove Cyber Crime Group are said to be in retaliation for the U.S. action against Revil. In July, Revil had also compromised the American software company Kaseya.

A few weeks ago, SIAE, the Italian Society of Authors and Publishers, was attacked by hackers who stole 60GB of artist data.

In Italy, 50% of companies are at risk of ransomware, according to Marco Ramilli, founder of security company Yoroi.

On July 30, 2021, a hacker attack on the data center that houses some of the information systems of the Lazio administrative region compromised the use of some of the services and applications available to citizens.
