Soccer: Atalanta crash out of Champions League

(ANSA) – ROME, MAR 17 – Atalanta are out of the Champions League after losing the return leg of their last-16 tie against Real Madrid 3-1 on Tuesday.
The Spanish giants progressed to the quarter-finals 4-1 on aggregate after winning the first leg in Bergamo 1-0.
Karim Benzema, Sergio Ramos and Asensio were on target for Real while Luis Muriel scored for Atalanta.
It means Italy is almost certain to have no representatives in the last eight of Europe’s premier club competition.
Juventus were knocked out by Lyon last week and Lazio face holders Bayern Munich in Germany later on Wednesday after losing the first leg 4-1. (ANSA).
