Lamberto Giannini named new police chief

(ANSA) – ROME, MAR 4 – The government on Thursday top cop and
terror expert Lamberto Giannini as new Italian police chief
replacing Franco Gabrielli who recently became intelligence
undersecretary in Mario Draghi’s new executive.
    Rome-born Giannini, 57, was until now head of the central
directorate of the police force. (ANSA).
